CuriousWorks Annual Showcase Event

On 17 November, CuriousWorks celebrated our annual end of year showcase, Urban Stories: En Route at the Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the artists, programs and projects from across the year, recognising the importance of the process behind them, and celebrating the hard-working folks who make CuriousWorks work possible.
This year, Urban Stories: En Route presented new works in development from our pilot mentorship programs - Testing Grounds and the Refugee Artist Development program. We also heard from artists working across our grassroots, emerging artist and social enterprise programs and celebrated the success of our community engaged, youth focused festivals in Bidwill and Miller this year – FUNPARK and GEN2168. Sadly, it was also the last event for CuriousWorks CEO, Vanessa Hyde, who farewelled the company in December 2022 after 10 years.
