THE GROUNDSWELL PROJECT: YARNING OUR WISHES

A film about planning for end of life.
CuriousWorks was invited by The Groundswell Project, to run a documented community engagement process with Aboriginal communities in South Western Sydney and health staff from South Western Sydney Local Health District, discussing and creating a video that highlights what’s important for local First Nation communities when it comes to planning for end of life.

Yarning Our Wishes is aimed at health professionals and community organisations that work in end-of-life care and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members of Western Sydney. The film highlights key points and learnings as well as other cultural considerations.

Facilitating safe and guided conversations is a key service CuriousWorks continues to offer through our social enterprise program. Wiradjuri Artist/ Dancer, Neville Williams Boney was employed to facilitate the conversation, alongside Elias Nohra and emerging filmmaker, Diego Murillo.
