In 2021 we welcomed Andrea Lim to the team as our new Creative Director. Andrea is a creative producer and a strong community arts advocate who cares deeply about arts-based initiatives for social outcomes. Her work spans grassroots community arts as an organiser and performer exploring the multi-faceted layers and complex relationships to identity. Prior to commencing at CuriousWorks, Andrea worked in Cultural Development and Planning with Fairfield City Council and facilitated Holding Space, a mentoring program for emerging artists of colour. Andrea holds a Masters in Arts Leadership from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Music from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
In the first quarter of the year, our team has expanded to not only include our Creative Director, but also three new staff positions being held by Curious Creators: Diego Murillo as the Social Enterprise Producer, Samantha Barahona as Program Producer for ReFill and Generate 2164 and Sivani Yaddanapudi joined the FUNPARK team.
Bringing in more emerging artists into salaried leadership roles is another way CuriousWorks seeks to provide long-term, sustainable support to young, emerging Western Sydney artists.
