Our strengths as a company are in providing ongoing, long-running development support to artists in the form of commissioning new work, helping them to carve career pathways, and increasing access and participation in the arts. Our partnership with SSI is complementary, symbiotic and generative, with SSI providing a highly visible platform to showcase the work of artists, affording them the opportunity to connect with new and bigger audiences, to gain confidence and new skills in presenting their work to the public and to pursue new opportunities and a deeper sense of belonging in their new homeland.
Homelands - The Path Within, as part of the SSI Homelands Regional Arts Tour 2024 showcased during Refugee Week from 17 June – 1 July 2024, with stops in Brisbane, Coffs Harbour and Sydney. It showcased powerful works from CuriousWorks artists: Emmanuel Asante (Ghana), Khishkok Abdo (Kurdistan), Shiva Dadvar (Iran), and Ali Rezvani (Iran).
Homelands - The Path Within was a compelling presentation of visual arts, live performances, and music by both established and emerging artists, highlighting their lived experiences in coming to Australia to build new lives for themselves and their families – grounded in the purpose of finding and nurturing connection, safety, strength, and unity.
