How do you build a more relevant, equitable, sustainable and future-focused arts culture? You invest time and money in the people; and you create multi-directional opportunities for sharing, learning and growing relationships. Future Culture is a pilot program from CuriousWorks that commenced in 2024.
As an arts organisation, we cannot work towards a Future Culture without being responsive to the current needs and desires of the artists and the sector. Embedding new artistic perspectives on an organisational level means we are constantly listening to the evolving needs and desires of local artists and arts workers.
We invited EOIs for two early-career artist residencies and two graduate/early career arts worker internships to work with CuriousWorks on a 9-month long salaried, casual, fixed-term, contract from September 2024 through to June 2025. Emma Pham, Cassandra Li, Kirsten Maglalang & Kobra Sayyadi were welcomed as our Future Culture 2024-25 cohort.
