Emerging Artistic Directorate
CuriousWorks piloted our first Emerging Artistic Directorate over 2021 - 2022, with four artistic leaders taking part in the program. The directorate was a space for curiosity, growth and sharing. The directorate was a space that centered "process".
To make impactful and intentional art, emerging artists require time to unpack the personal—personal voice, alignment, values, purpose, intention and relationship to culture. These are core tenets in developing a foundational creative practice. They were mentored to find their power, and develop courage to create spaces they'd like to see in their communities through dialogue, collaboration and artistic practice. Over the program the directorate facilitated and devised community arts and cultural development activities with our CuriousCreator artists at our annual StoryCircle event. They also seeded small creative ideas and devised community based works through our festivals programs.
