BEYOND REFUGE: HOMELANDS ARTS TOUR 2021


Beyond Refuge artists Ali Al Azeez and Daisy Montalvo joined Settlement Service International’s Homelands Arts Tour 2021, a week-long multi-disciplinary arts tour across Queensland and New South Wales as part of Refugee Week in June.

Showcasing seven talented artists, Homelands aims to raise awareness and understanding of refugee experiences through cinematic exhibitions, live music, Q&As and workshops. Homelands brings artists and communities together in creative and meaningful ways that promote social cohesion and unity.

The tour kicked off at The Access Gateway, Logan, in partnership with Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC), followed by screenings, public talks and workshops at Coffs Harbour Education Campus, in partnership with Screenwave International Film Festival, before heading to Armidale at present the works at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM).
